ראשית, ראוי לציין שהמילה דת מקורה במילה הפרסית דתה, שמשתמשים בה היום בשפת המיחשוב המודרני. אם כן, דת אינה אלא דתה בלבד; מידע. דעת לעומת זאת היא חוכמה, כלומר, דת היא דעת שה"עין" נפלה ממנה. היינו, בלי עין, שנחזיר אותה לדת, זה מה שנקבל, מידע בלבד. אך אם נחזיר לדת את העין, נקבל את דעת החוכמה, רוח ואלוהות, וכך נחכים ונזכה בחירות שלנו.

המסורת של הצוענים היא הודית

במהלך 1000 שנות נדודיהם של הצוענים בעולם חלו בדתם ובמסורתם הרבה שינויים, הסתגלויות והתאמות. יש צוענים הינדואיסטים-שאקטיסטים, נוצרים, מוסלמים, וגם יהודים, בודדים. אך מתוך היכרותי המשפחתית האישית הקרובה עם הני הרומה ועם דתם, אני יכולה לקבוע (קביעתי זו מוצאת לה עוגן במחקרים אודות בני הרומה ודתם), שדת בני הרומה היא סינקרטיסטית - או כך זה לפחות אצל בני רומה שחיו אלף שנה מחוץ לארץ מכורתם.

הצוענים אינם אטניגנוס

הצוענים הם רום ROM, ברבים רומה ROMA, וכיום קיימת פעילות רבה של הצוענים להשריש את שמם האותנטי ברבים. השם רום מקורו במילה הודית דום DOM, שפירושה הוא "אדם". אם כן, הצוענים אינם אטניגנוס, הצוענים הם בני אדם, בעלי אמונה דתית חזקה בת אלפי שנים, שחלו בה התאמות והסתגלויות נוכח כורח החיים, בדומה לכל הדתות הקיימות בעולם.

לפי כמה הערכות קיימות היום בעולם כ-4.200 דתות.

רבים מבני הרומה והחוקרים מוצאים את מקור שמם בדמות ראמה, הגיבור האגדי של המאחאבאראטה והראמיאנה.

Are the Gypsies Athinganoi

Firstly, it’s noteworthy to realize that the word dat (religion, in Hebrew) comes from the Persian word data, which is used today in modern computing language. If so, dat is just that, data = information.

Even the word religion has nothing to do with human connection to the Divine.

Religion comes from the Latin word religio or ligare, which means to bind to connect. So the genuine human Divine Sacredness is his direct connection with the Divine.

May I add that there is no precise equivalent of “religion” in Hebrew, and Judaism does not distinguish clearly between religious, national, racial, or ethnic identities. [1] One of its central concepts is “halakha”, sometimes translated as "law", which guides religious practice and belief and many aspects of daily life. The same can be said about the Sanskrit word ”dharma”, sometimes translated as "religion", which also means law.

But in today reality Judaism, as Christianity, and many other religions, are all established belief systems, that have nothing to do with direct human connection to the Divine.

Trough the direct “feel from” connection to Divine you connect to wisdom and to your freedom. And the Homo Religiosus in The One Gypsy Oracle represents correctly such an enlightened state.

The religious basis of the Roma people is the Hindu religion, with it’s gods and goddesses, which in principle are only expressions of the Supreme God, Brahman.

The Roma people worship is of the Hindu goddess Shakti. Shaktism is a denomination of Hinduism that focuses worship upon Shakti or Devi – the Hindu Divine Mother – as the absolute, ultimate Godhead.

In order to fulfill the connection or belief in God He must have a consort, which is Shakti.

Many of Roma people adopted their host countries religions, but their loyality to Shakti remains. So, if Roma is Christian, his prayer to God is through Virgin Mary.

During 1,000 years of their wandering in the world the Roma people adopted the various religions, according to their host countries. Yet, from my personal acquaintance (which finds support in many researches) the Roma religion is syncretistic - or at least it is so for those Roma who lived a thousand years outside their homeland.

The Gysies are not athinganoi

They Gypsies are Rom. In prular Roma, and today there is much activity of the Roma people to instill their authentic name publicly.

Rom derives from an Indian word Dom, which means “man”. So then, as we have learn above, the Roma people are not athinganoi, but are human beings with strong religious belief thousands years old, which they have adjusted out of the necessity of life conditions, like all the world religions.

Many Roma and researchers find the source name in the form of Rama, the legendary hero of ‎Mahabharata and Ramayana.

According to some estimates there are currently approximately 4.200 world religions.
